What is the origin of Community Futures?
Employment and Immigration Canada (now named Human Resources Development Canada), starting in 1986, was responsible for establishing 90 Community Futures organizations throughout rural Western Canada.
In 1995, responsibility for Community Futures was transferred to Western Economic Diversification Canada (WD) which continues to provide core funding assistance.
Community Futures South Fraser
Community Futures South Fraser (CFSF) began operations in 1998 as a federally incorporated not-for-profit organization.
